About The League of Gentlemen

The League of Gentlemen is the BBC Two horror comedy set in Royston Vasey, written by Jeremy Dyson, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, with three of them playing most roles. Series 1 aired six episodes from January 1999, Series 2 aired six from January 2000, followed by the Yule Never Leave Christmas special on 27 December 2000.

Series 3 aired six episodes from September 2002 with a tighter serial shape, then The League of Gentlemens Apocalypse film arrived 3 June 2005 with the characters meeting their creators. The 2017 anniversary specials are an optional extra, not needed for the main story.

Good to know

Watch the three series and Christmas special in broadcast order, then the film last, since the movie assumes full knowledge of Tubbs, Edward, Papa Lazarou and Herr Lipp. Series 3 leans serial while earlier runs are sketch linked, but release order still matches story order. The anniversary specials from 2017 sit outside this list as reunion extras.
