About Xena and Hercules

Xena and Hercules share one syndicated universe from the 1990s: five Hercules TV movies (1994) launch Kevin Sorbo's hero, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys runs six seasons, and Xena spins out of Hercules season 1 to run six of her own. Young Hercules (1998) fills the hero's academy days.

Watch the TV movies first, then follow each show in broadcast order: the two series aired concurrently with crossovers, and the viewing notes flag them. Xena's trilogy introduction sits inside Hercules season 1. The Disney animated Hercules is a separate universe entirely and not part of this guide.

Good to know

The concurrent airing means strict alternation is possible but exhausting: show-by-show with the crossover flags is the sane path. Xena's finale divides fans sharply, while Hercules ends more conventionally. Young Hercules recasts with Ryan Gosling and plays younger by design. Cleopatra 2525 and Jack of All Trades share producers, not continuity, so they stay out. No revival has filmed despite constant rumors.
