About Combattler V
Combattler V follows five youths piloting separate machines that combine into the super robot Combattler V. Hyoma, Juzo, Daisaku, Chizuru and Kosuke battle Magma Beasts sent by Empress Janera and Warul. Toei aired fifty-four episodes from 1976 to 1977.
Early episodes establish combination orders and the Nanbara Connection base. Middle chapters introduce Daisaku's doctor past and Chizuru's ninja lineage. Later episodes reveal Garuda as a rival android and close with the Campbell mothership assault. The generals fall in fixed order, so jumping ahead spoils who outranks whom.
Good to know
Watch in broadcast order. The series is episodic, but Campbell commanders debut and fall sequentially. There is no film sequel in continuity, since later Super Robot Wars games retell the story separately. New viewers can sample early combinations, yet the finale lands better after seeing Oreana's long failure arc.
