About Corpse Party
Corpse Party: Missing Footage (2012) is an eleven minute OVA showing Kisaragi Academy friends the day before the Sachiko charm sends them to Heavenly Host Elementary. Directed by Akira Iwanaga, it works as episode zero rather than a standalone story.
Corpse Party: Tortured Souls (2013) is a four episode OVA from the same director and studio Asread, adapting the games bad endings across thirty minute chapters from July 2013. The plot teleports nine students to the haunted school and forces reunion attempts under vengeful ghosts. Watch Missing Footage first, then Tortured Souls one through four.
Good to know
Release order matches story order, since Missing Footage is explicitly a prequel day before tale. Start with the 2012 short to meet Ayumi, Yoshiki and Seiko before the curse hits. Tortured Souls adapts only bad endings from the games, so expect a bleak run with no rescue shortcut. The anime run is complete at two entries, with games continuing separately in play order guides.
