About Death Note
Light Yagami finds a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it and uses it to pose as the god of a crime-free world, opposed by the detective L. Madhouse adapted the full manga in 37 episodes airing October 2006 to June 2007.
The two Relight TV specials re-cut the series with new narration and a few added scenes. Both are skippable. Watch them only after the series, since the second one revises the ending sequence.

Live-action adaptations are separate from the anime and are not in the list: Death Note (June 2006), Death Note 2: The Last Name (October 2006), L: Change the WorLd (February 2008), the 11-episode TV drama (2015), the New Generation miniseries and Light Up the NEW World (2016), and the Netflix film (August 2017). A new live-action series has been reported but nothing dated was confirmed as of September 2026.
