About Erased
Erased follows Satoru, whose Revival ability throws him back to 1988 to stop the kidnapping and murder he failed to prevent as a boy. The A-1 Pictures anime ran 12 episodes in early 2016, with a live action film released the same March and a Netflix live action drama following in 2017.
Start with the anime. It tells the complete story in 12 episodes and is the version every discussion assumes. The film and the Netflix drama are alternate retellings with different endings, worth watching afterward for comparison but never as substitutes for a first viewing.
Good to know
The anime ending differs from Kei Sanbe's manga, which ran until later in 2016, so purists often prefer the page version's closing stretch. The digest ONA episodes are simple recaps and can be skipped. No continuation has been announced in any medium, so the anime plus its two live action retellings is the full set.
