About Steel Jeeg

Steel Jeeg follows race driver Hiroshi Shiba, turned cyborg after an accident, who magnetically docks with the Steel Jeeg head to fight Queen Himika's Haniwa Empire. With father Professor Shiba and partner Miwa, he battles Ikima and Amaso. Toei aired forty-six episodes from 1975 to 1976.

Early episodes establish the Build Base and the Shozonji temple secret. Middle chapters add the Big Shooter support craft and the Himika revival rites. Later episodes reveal the Jamatai emperor ship and close with the final Haniwa assault. The phantoms escalate in fixed order, so sequence preserves power reveals.

Good to know

Watch in broadcast order. The series is episodic, yet Haniwa generals fall sequentially. There is no sequel in continuity, since Kotetsushin Jeeg retells the story separately decades later. New viewers can sample early combinations, yet the finale works better after seeing Himika's long awakening arc.
