The Promised Neverland adapts Kaiu Shirai's manga about orphans discovering their home is a farm raising children for demons. Season one aired January to March 2019 across 12 episodes and closely follows the manga's escape arc, earning wide praise for its tension. Season two aired January to March 2021 across 11 episodes but skipped the manga's middle arcs to end with an anime-original finale.
The manga ran to 181 chapters and finished in June 2020 with a fuller ending. The anime has not continued since season two, and no sequel has been announced, leaving the TV version closed.
