About Tokyo Babylon
Tokyo Babylon follows Subaru Sumeragi, a young onmyoji from Kyoto, who takes on supernatural cases in Tokyo with his sister Hokuto and veterinarian Seishiro Sakurazuka. The Madhouse OVAs tell original stories rather than single manga chapters, with the first case centered on a construction site accident and the second on a serial killer investigation aided by another practitioner.
Watch OVA 1 from October 1992, then the live action Tokyo Babylon 1999 film from August 1993, then OVA 2 from March 1994. The planned Tokyo Babylon 2021 TV series was announced in 2020 and later cancelled, so this short list is the complete screen story and release order matches the viewing order.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order for Tokyo Babylon worth listing, as the two OVAs are standalone cases and the live action film acts as a sequel set after the manga events. Release order is the viewing order. The manga ran from 1990 to 1993 across seven volumes, so readers who want more Subaru and Seishiro after the three screen entries should continue there.
