About Yoshiaki Kawajiri
Yoshiaki Kawajiri directed Wicked City in 1987 about Black Guards romancing demons. Demon City Shinjuku followed in 1988, then Ninja Scroll in 1993 with Jubei poisoning gems. Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust arrived in 2000 chasing Meier and Charlotte.
Highlander The Search for Vengeance came in 2007 with Colin MacLeod looping. The films share swords and demons but no plots link at all. Release order shows his Madhouse blade sharpening from cities to wastes. The sword arcs and demon snarls carry every blade with red ink.
Good to know
Watch oldest to newest since each blade resets its hunter. Wicked first sets the demon base for the run. Scroll suits ninja nights while Bloodlust closes as the vampire peak. No next feature has a date yet, so Vengeance stays last until one is announced. The fan polls confirm the blade, so give Scroll full attention.
