About Back 4 Blood
Back 4 Blood follows the Cleaners retaking towns from the Ridden with card decks in the 2021 base campaign across four acts. Early runs set the copper economy, deck building and hive exits that drive every mission, while Fort Hope acts as the hub for cleaners, weapons and supply vendors between runs.
Expansions Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm and River of Blood from 2022 add cleaners, Ridden types and new acts that assume base decks are known. Each pack layers fresh cards, tunnels and maps onto the same Fort Hope hub without resetting progress, so playing in release order keeps difficulty and unlocks in their planned sequence.
Good to know
Play the base campaign first to learn cards and cleaners, then the three expansions in release order for the full act path. The deluxe bundle includes everything and is the buy pick now for new co-op squads. Support ended in 2023 with no sequel dated, so treat the four packs as a complete set and clear each act before moving to the next pack in turn.
