About Darksiders

Darksiders from 2010 follows War, Darksiders 2 from 2012 follows Death, and Darksiders 3 from 2018 follows Fury, with the three running largely parallel rather than serial. Genesis from 2019 is a top down prequel with Strife and War against Lucifer by Airship Syndicate. Remasters cover the first two for current platforms.

DLCs add Argul Tomb, Abyssal Forge and Belial to 2 plus Crucible and Void to 3. Darksiders 4 was announced at THQ Nordic 2024 by Gunfire Games for PC and current consoles with no date as of September 2026. Original THQ bankruptcy moved the series to THQ Nordic. Release order keeps mechanics readable, while story order starts with Genesis.

Good to know

Play in release order first: 1, 2, 3, then Genesis. That preserves reveals even though Genesis is earliest in story. Use Warmastered and Deathinitive remasters for 1 and 2 on modern systems. Treat Genesis as a genre shift to top down rather than a main third person entry. DLCs slot after their base games, with Genesis needing none. The fourth game stays yearless until THQ dates it.
