About Evergrace

Evergrace launched in Japan in April 2000 for PlayStation 2, with North America following in October 2000 as an early RPG from FromSoftware. It follows swordsman Darius and Sharline across Edinbury, where the lost Rieubane Empire and the Crest shape both routes, using gear based growth and Palmira skills instead of levels.

Forever Kingdom arrived in Japan in June 2001 as Evergrace II and reached North America in January 2002. It stars a younger Darius traveling with Ruyan and Faeana on the same continent, and its story runs directly before the first game. Release order is the intended path, since the prequel assumes you know the setting and refines the combat.

Good to know

Forever Kingdom is a prequel, not a direct sequel, so story order runs opposite to release order. Play Evergrace first anyway. The duology is complete, with no third game announced and FromSoftware long moved on to other series. Both games remain PlayStation 2 only, so expect original hardware or a compatible setup.
