About Fatal Fury
Fatal Fury opened in 1991 on Neo Geo with Terry Bogard entering Geese Howard's King of Fighters tournament to avenge his father. Fatal Fury 2 in 1992 and Special in 1993 expanded the South Town saga, with Fatal Fury 3 and the Real Bout trilogy carrying Terry through 1998.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves in 1999 jumped a decade forward to Terry's ward Rock Howard, and stood as the finale for 26 years. City of the Wolves arrived in 2025 continuing Rock's story with live DLC seasons. Play the 2D run in release order, then Garou, then City of the Wolves. The anime OVAs and film adapt the early games loosely and stay optional.
Good to know
Release order is story order from Terry's revenge to Rock's inheritance. Wild Ambition remakes the first game in 3D and can be skipped in favor of the original. Garou assumes the Real Bout ending, so do not jump to it early. City of the Wolves is current with ongoing seasons, which keeps this post open until its story DLC wraps.
