About Frogger
Frogger follows the frog hopping roads and rivers across arcade and console runs. The path starts with the 1981 arcade original and Frogger II, then the 1997 Hasbro remake, Frogger 2, the portable Adventures games, Helmet Chaos, Returns and the Toy Town remake.
Play in release order. Road timing and log habits from the original carry into every remake, while the Adventures games add story quests that assume hop precision. Helmet Chaos and Returns remix the formula with gadgets, so they play best with classic habits. Toy Town rebuilds the arcade loop for modern controls as a fine current start.
Good to know
Levels reset around roads and rivers every game, so order tracks hop timing rather than plot. The 1981 original and its sequel are strict one hit hoppers, while later games add health and saves. The Adventures subseries tells its own rescue tales without changing the loop. The series is ongoing with Toy Town as the modern end.
