About Panzer Dragoon
Panzer Dragoon starts in 1995 as a Saturn rail shooter with a dragon and rider against the Empire. Zwei from 1996 acts as a prequel with evolved forms, while Saga from 1998 shifts into RPG chapters with Edge and Azel as the lore peak.
Orta from 2002 continues years later on Xbox as a rail return. The 2020 remake of the original on Switch revives the start with modern aim. The series shares ruins and drones across entries, so release order suits the mystery reveals better than timeline shuffles.
Good to know
Play the original or 2020 remake first, then Zwei, then Saga for the lore core. Orta fits last as the years later close. Saga is rare and long, so the remake plus Orta can form a short rail run for busy players. A Zwei remake has been discussed but had no date as of September 2026, so the set stands as is for now.
