About Power Stone
Power Stone is Capcom's arena brawler built around its title gems: fighters scramble for stones mid-match, and collecting three transforms your character into a powered-up form with new moves. The 1999 original launched with the Dreamcast, and Power Stone 2 (2000) expanded to four-player free-for-alls with multi-stage arenas and item fusion.
The complete set is just three releases: both arcade-perfect Dreamcast games, then the 2006 PSP Collection bundling them for handhelds. Play 1 then 2 in release order; the sequel assumes you know the transformation loop. An anime series from 1999 follows the games loosely and is entirely optional.
Good to know
The PSP Collection is the practical way to play now, though its single analog nub changes the feel of the Dreamcast originals. Power Stone 2's adventure-style item mixing looks deep but is mostly for versus variety rather than a campaign. The 1999 anime tells its own story with the game cast, so it spoils nothing and adds nothing required. Capcom has announced no revival despite steady fan requests.
