About Prey
Prey from 2006 follows Tommy Tawodi through portals and spirit walks after an alien abduction, made by Human Head. A Prey 2 about bounty hunter Killian Samuels was announced and canceled in 2014. Prey from May 2017 follows Morgan Yu on Talos I against the Typhon, made by Arkane Austin as a System Shock style game with the same name only.
Mooncrash from June 2018 is a roguelite DLC on the Pytheas moonbase with five characters, and Typhon Hunter from December 2018 adds asymmetrical multiplayer plus VR escape rooms. Arkane Austin closed in May 2024, so the IP sits dormant. No new Prey had a date as of September 2026.
Good to know
Do not play the 2017 game expecting a sequel, since director Raphael Colantonio has said the name was forced and the stories do not connect. Play 2006 and 2017 in either order as separate runs. Inside the 2017 branch play base, then Mooncrash, then Typhon Hunter, since Typhon Hunter needs the prior packs and VR works as a prequel extra. The canceled Prey 2 stays out of the list.
