About Rival Schools
Rival Schools: United by Fate launched in arcades in late 1997 and reached PlayStation in 1998 about Justice High attacks across schools with teens. A Japan only update added two characters in 1999 for collectors.
Project Justice arrived in arcades in late 2000 and Dreamcast in 2001 as the sequel set a year later with three on three fights and new schools. Capcom reissued it in Fighting Collection 2 in 2025 with an artbook and a Street Fighter 6 pass. No third game is greenlit despite creator interest.
Good to know
Play United by Fate, then Project Justice in that order. The sequel assumes the school alliances and Batsu arc directly from the first. The Japan only update can be skipped without loss outside completion runs for fans. Collection 2 is the modern way to play the sequel with online features included.
