About Toukiden
Toukiden follows Slayers guarding villages from giant Oni across a Koei Tecmo hunting run. The original launched in 2013 on PSP and Vita with mission based hunts and Mitama souls. Kiwami followed in 2014 as an expanded version with new demons and longer story. Toukiden 2 arrived in 2016 with an open field map and the same soul weapon loop.
All entries share the hunt loop with light continuity around villages and past heroes. Play the 2013 original, Kiwami, then Toukiden 2 in release order for the full arc. There are no later main games beyond 2016, so the three stage run plus the expanded cut is the complete path from first village to the open field finale.
Good to know
Play the 2013 original first, since it sets the Slayer base and Mitama system. Kiwami continues as an expanded take, so it plays best second with fresh hunts. Toukiden 2 closes the run with open fields, which is why release order works best. The hunting loop rewards story order with steady gear growth. Release order keeps village arcs and hunt unlocks clear.
