About Iron Eagle
Iron Eagle from 1986 follows teen Doug Masters borrowing an F-16 with retired pilot Chappy to rescue his father from a fictional Arab state. A surprise hit built on air-show footage and an 1980s soundtrack, it launched a franchise on enthusiasm alone.
Three sequels followed Gossett's Chappy instead: Iron Eagle II in 1988, Aces High in 1992 and On the Attack in 1995. The plots never connect beyond Chappy mentoring new pilots, so release order is the tour. Start with the original for the era charm, then take the sequels as diminishing piano-wire action.
