About Missing in Action
Missing in Action from 1984 stars Chuck Norris as Colonel Braddock raiding Vietnam to free POWs, Cannon's flagship action hit. The Beginning followed in 1985 as a prequel showing Braddock's own camp capture, filmed back to back with the original.
Braddock: Missing in Action III closed the trilogy in 1988 with his Vietnamese wife and son. Release order is the recommended path, since the prequel assumes the original's hero. Chronological order swaps the first two for rewatches. Either way the trilogy reads complete.
Good to know
The two orders genuinely differ because part two is a prequel. First-timers should follow release order so Braddock arrives fully formed before his origin. Rewatchers can run chronologically: Beginning, then the 1984 rescue, then part three. No fourth film ever materialized despite the Cannon formula begging for one.
