About Terence Young
Terence Young directed the first Bond film, Dr. No in 1962, introducing Sean Connery, Ursula Andress and the gun barrel style. From Russia with Love followed in 1963 with a colder spy plot, then Thunderball in 1965 with underwater SPECTRE battles in the Bahamas. The three pictures fixed the mix of locations, gadgets and dry humor.
Wait Until Dark arrived in 1967 with Audrey Hepburn as a blind woman facing burglars, then Mayerling in 1968, Cold Sweat in 1970, Red Sun in 1971 with Charles Bronson, Toshiro Mifune and Alain Delon, and The Valachi Papers in 1972. Young died in 1994, so this run is closed. Watch in release order, since the Bond tools reappear in the later action films.
Good to know
These are standalone stories with no shared continuity, so there is no chronological order to untangle. The three Bond titles fit here as Young films, not as the full Bond saga. From Russia with Love is often named as his strongest Bond. Wait Until Dark plays best with no plot details in advance. Red Sun mixes western and samurai action, which helps explain its lasting cult pull. The run is complete.
