About Wet Hot American Summer

Wet Hot American Summer spans the 2001 film plus two Netflix series: the First Day of Camp prequel from 2015 and the Ten Years Later sequel from 2017. The film sets summer 1981 at Camp Firewood, the prequel rewinds to day one with the same cast younger across all three shoots, and the sequel jumps to 1991.

Watch in release order first since the prequel assumes the film. Chronological order flips the prequel first for rewatches once the characters are known well, with the making of documentary aside either way.

Good to know

Release order puts the film first and the prequel second, while chronological order leads with the prequel, so both lists are included. The documentary covers the production rather than the story for fans of the cast. With no new entry announced since 2017, these three narratives are the complete run.
