Last Samurai Standing follows fallen samurai Shujiro entering a Meiji battle royale for family. Season 1 (2025) runs 6 episodes from November 13, 2025 all same day from Kodoku to Mortal Combat. Season 2 was confirmed December 18, 2025 by Netflix Japan with no premiere date.
Michihito Fujii directs the Netflix Japanese live action from Shogo Imamura novel with Junichi Okada leading and producing. The first two episodes premiered at Busan September 18, 2025. Watch season 1 first, then wait on 2 once dated, since the Shujiro family debt and the Okubo conspiracy set up the next run.
Good to know
Broadcast order is the only order, with one season released and the next waiting. Season 1 sets the Kodoku tag rules and the Shujiro Futaba pact that season 2 will reopen. The December 2025 renewal came a month after launch. Treat season 1 as latest released, with season 2 ordered but undated and in work.
